Good technology starts with understanding the business.
Astel is a small development studio founded by Luke Squillante. We build websites, software, and AI-powered systems for businesses that need reliable technology without hiring an internal development team.
Luke Squillante, founder.
Luke designs and builds the projects in our portfolio himself. When you call Astel, you are talking to the person who will plan your project, write the code and answer the phone after launch.
Astel builds its own products as well as client work. DietLense, an AI-powered nutrition app, went from an idea to a published app on the App Store. Shipping a product to the public means dealing with everything a demo skips: App Store review, real users, running costs and keeping results consistent.
The client work covers very different problems: a job platform with paid memberships, a custom online store, a catalog for a wine importer, and websites for a restaurant and a yoga studio. They are all live, and you can open every one of them.
You can reach Luke directly on (516) 563-0249.
One person accountable for the whole thing.
Astel is a small studio, and we say so plainly. For most small businesses that is the right size of partner.
Nothing gets lost between a salesperson, a project manager and a developer, because they are the same person. The decisions about your project are made by someone who has heard you describe your business first-hand.
It also means we are selective. We take on work we can do properly, and we will tell you when a project is not a fit, or when the honest answer is that you do not need us.
Four things we hold to.
Understand the business first
We ask how you actually work before recommending anything. The technology follows from that, not the other way around.
Say what it costs
You get the scope and the price in writing before work starts. If the scope changes, the conversation happens before the invoice.
Recommend only what helps
AI and automation are very good at some jobs and wrong for others. We will tell you which is which for your business.
Stay responsible after launch
A system nobody maintains gets worse. We host and look after what we build.
Owner-run businesses.
We have written practical guides for many of these industries in our resource library.
