ASTEL Labs is our own business: an online store for research compounds, sold for laboratory research use only. Instead of a hosted store builder, it runs on a platform we built ourselves, covering the catalog, cart and checkout, order tracking, customer accounts, the back office the business runs on, and a program for partners who sell the products.

The challenge
Most hosted store builders and card processors restrict this category, so the store could not simply be set up on a mainstream platform. It also needed compliance built into the product itself, not added afterwards: research-use labeling, an age gate, and careful control over what any page is allowed to claim.
Make buying as easy as it is in a mainstream shop, keep every product page within what can actually be backed up, and give the owner a back office that runs the whole operation from one place.
What we built
We built the store and its back office as one custom web platform. Customers can check out without an account, pay with the methods the store accepts, and track their order. A claims screen blocks medical and human-use language in product copy, and testing claims only appear once a real lab report has been published. Behind it sits an admin with a stock ledger, order workflow, packing slips and an installable phone app that sends notifications, plus a partner program with sign-up, mandatory training, dashboards and branded reseller storefronts.
The details that mattered.
Compliance shaped the build. Product copy passes an automated claims screen, there is no dosing or human-use guidance anywhere on the site, and wording such as "lab tested" stays hidden until a matching lab report is published. The products are sold for laboratory research use only.
